history of temple
Temple had its beginning as a railroad town. On June 29, 1881, Temple Junction was created as the Gulf, Colorado and Santa Fe Railway pushed north from Galveston. On this day, trains brought prospective buyers in for an auction of town lots. 157 business lots and 28 residential lots were sold, and the rest, as they say, is history.
mission
Tour Temple has a dual mission, to connect residents and visitors in the Central Texas area to the booming local businesses popping up throughout the city.
Vision
We will accomplish this in by providing a centralized hub to learn about what is new in the area and sample local beer and wine; offering self-led or guided tours of other points of interest in the area; and eventually providing the first micro mobility option in select dense corridors of Temple.
